Quilting Weekend at NeSoDak
Come to One Weekend or Both!
January 28 - 31 and/or February 25 - 28
Come to NeSoDak for a weekend (or two) of quilting, relaxation and fellowship. Beginners and experts are invited to bring their projects and supplies to work and share creative ideas alongside one another. These weekends will be laid back with time to work, unwind and just enjoy the art of quilting with new and old friends.
NOTE: Dorothy Spieker from Dakota Quilt Shop in Watertown, SD will be joining us both weekends to share her knowledge, give a few demonstrations and show off some new products for purchase.
WHAT TO BRING:
- Your own quilting projects (Need an idea? NeSoDak is looking for donations of neutral and earth-tone colored quilted wall hangings for the lodge)
- Sewing machine (and surge protector)
- Quilting supplies
- Bedding, towels, toiletries
- Warm clothes (if you would like to cross country ski or just
enjoy some fresh air)
NESODAK WILL PROVIDE space for cutting and sewing in the dining hall with plenty of light for doing intricate details. The fireside room will be available for laying out projects and ironing as well. We also have a few ironing boards, irons, cutting mats, and rotary scissors to share but feel free to bring your own
Schedule:
You may arrive anytime after 1:00 pm on Thursday.
The first meal will be served at 6:00 pm. The retreat
concludes Sunday afternoon.
The weekend schedule is very relaxed to allow plenty
of time for sewing, laughing, learning, eating and
fellowship. Feel free to work on projects, relax and gather
with friends all weekend. Friday and Saturday meals
include breakfast, lunch and supper with brunch served
on Sunday morning. Optional morning devotions and
afternoon outdoor recreation (walks or cross country
skiing) will also be available.
NEW THIS YEAR:
Service Sewing Projects! Take a break from your quilting
in service to outdoor ministry. Sew new curtains for the
lodge bedrooms or simple costumes for eSoDak’s Christ
Hike by gifting a few moments of your time and talent.
NeSoDak will provide fabric and thread. Thanks for your
gift of service.
