Confirmation Camp is a unique opportunity for campers to grow in their faith while experiencing the outdoors, adventure, and community that make NeSoDak special. This week is designed to strengthen connections with peers, pastors, and youth leaders through engaging confirmation sessions, worship, and small group discussions—all in a fun and faith-filled environment.

In addition to confirmation learning, campers will enjoy all the must-do camp activities—swimming, canoeing, campfires, games, and time in nature. It’s a week filled with laughter, reflection, and new experiences that will help campers grow in confidence, strengthen their faith, and create lasting friendships.

Faith, Fun, and Togetherness by the Lake

Slow down, unplug, and reconnect with the people who matter most at Family Camp at NeSoDak! Nestled along the beautiful shores of Lake Enemy Swim, this all-ages experience invites families to grow in faith, play in creation, and build lifelong memories together.

Each day brings a balance of relaxation, adventure, and spiritual renewal. Families can swim, paddleboard, or canoe on the lake, enjoy crafts and camp games, and join in meaningful worship and Bible study led by caring NeSoDak staff. Evenings around the campfire offer time to laugh, sing, and share stories under the stars.

Whether you’re a longtime camper or visiting for the first time, Family Camp at NeSoDak is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with nature, each other, and God’s presence in every splash, song, and sunset.

Fishing Camp I

This introductory fishing camp is designed for young campers eager to learn the basics of fishing while enjoying all the fun of summer camp. With a mix of shore and supervised dock fishing, campers will gain confidence, experience lake life, and discover the beauty of nature.

Each day is filled with:

  • Fishing from shore and docks
  • Traditional camp favorites like crafts, swimming, and games
  • Campfire worship, Bible study, and devotions

Whether you’re brand new to fishing or already have a few catches under your belt, this camp will deepen your love for the sport while creating unforgettable memories.

Grades 6-9

Fishing Camp II

This advanced fishing experience is for campers who want more time on the water and the chance to learn from experienced fishing guides. In addition to the best of camp life, this session focuses on trolling for big catches, leadership, and growing in faith.

Highlights include:

  • More time on the water, learning new skills and techniques
  • Evening campfires, sunset reflections, and group worship

Worship at NeSoDak is inspiring and interactive, helping campers connect with God in the beauty of creation.

One-Day Day Camp

A Full Day of Faith, Fun, and Camp Adventure!

Experience the joy of camp—all in one exciting day! The One-Day Day Camp at NeSoDak is the perfect opportunity for kids to get a taste of camp life without staying overnight. Set along the stunning shores of Lake Enemy Swim, campers will spend the day exploring, playing, and growing in faith through fun, hands-on activities led by NeSoDak’s caring summer staff.

Parents can rest easy knowing their campers are in a safe, welcoming environment where every child is encouraged to learn, laugh, and build friendships.

This special camp is all about building memories, exploring nature, and growing in faith as a team. You’ll spend time together at the waterfront, enjoy creative crafts and hands-on activities, and gather around the campfire to sing, share stories, and reflect on the day. Worship is designed to be engaging and meaningful, and time outdoors will remind you of the beauty of God’s creation.

Whether this is your camper’s first overnight experience or creating special memories with a loved one, 1-2-3 Camp is a wonderful way to connect, explore, and grow together.

Lutherans Outdoors Leadership Program (LOLP)

Developing Confident, Faithful Leaders

The Lutherans Outdoors Leadership Program is designed for young leaders looking to grow in faith, develop leadership skills, and make a lasting impact. Guided by experienced camp staff and mentors, participants will engage in hands-on leadership training, role modeling, and camp operations, all within a supportive, Christ-centered community.

This immersive program goes beyond traditional camp experiences by equipping youth with essential leadership skills through team-building exercises, problem-solving challenges, and real-world camp responsibilities. Participants will also dive into Bible study together, deepening their faith, confidence, and ability to inspire others.

By the end of the week, campers will have gained practical leadership experience, meaningful friendships, and a stronger connection with their faith—all while enjoying the adventure, fun, and community that make LOSD so special.

SUMMER STAFF

Christ-Centered Leaders You Can Trust

Your camper will join a cabin group led by a trained counselor who is with them all day, through devotions, meals, Bible study, and activities. Our summer staff are supported by NeSoDak’s year-round team, who help provide leadership, supervision, and a strong sense of Christian community.

Dining at NeSoDak

Meals are served in our Dining Hall or at picnic tables by the lake. If your camper has dietary restrictions or food allergies, please note them on the health form and email Kris Mueller at kris@losd.org ahead of time so we can prepare accordingly.

LODGING

Where Campers Stay

Lodging depends on the camp program:

  • Youth campers (week-long): Stay in traditional cabins.

  • Intergenerational campers: Stay in either cabins or the Sorensen Lodge.

Each space offers rustic charm and a cozy place to rest after a full day of fun and faith.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE

Check-In & Check-Out

  • Arrival: Check-in is at 4 PM. Please do not arrive early. Drop-off locations will be organized by program group, and staff will guide you upon arrival.

  • Departure: Camp concludes with Closing Worship at 11 AM on your final day. Families are warmly invited to attend. Weather permitting, worship is held outside at the campfire ring.

CAMP STORE

Souvenirs, Snacks & More

Campers can visit the camp store daily to purchase snacks, drinks, and gear like:

  • T-shirts, sweatshirts, and more ($12–$35)

Payment Options:

  • Bring cash or a check to camp

  • Deposit funds online by noon on Monday of camp week

Refunds for leftover balances will be issued at the end of the week, by credit card (if online deposit) or in cash/check (if brought in person). The store will also be open after Closing Worship for families to browse.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Partnering with You for Camper Care

Lutherans Outdoors in South Dakota works closely with parents and guardians to ensure each camper receives safe, attentive, and compassionate care. While our staff is trained to handle a wide range of health needs, we will contact you if your camper experiences any significant health concerns.

You can expect a phone call under the following circumstances:

  • Hospital or ER Visit: Anytime a camper requires professional medical attention off-site.

  • Medication Concerns: If there are questions or issues with properly dispensing your camper’s medication.

  • Ongoing Symptoms: If a camper has a persistent fever or medical need that extends beyond 24 hours of monitoring.

  • Need for Clarification: If there are questions about a camper’s health that require your input or clarification.

  • Risk to the Group: If a camper’s condition may affect the broader camp community (e.g., a positive COVID test).

Our top priority is always your camper’s health, safety, and well-being—and we’re committed to keeping you informed and involved.
